Pitching Songs To My Group

The group members include Daisy, Kai, Ben and myself. Once we were put in these groups, we each used the songs we researched and found previously to pitch to one another. Along with this we wrote down adjectives that came to mind when listening to each song and discussed potential ideas for them. Immediately we were able to cross out some of the songs as we found they would be difficult to film a video for or the video would be a stereotypical "girl dancing in a dress" which is something we want to avoid. These songs included 'Deep house music', 'Heave Ho!', 'Questions' and 'Faces'. We did not finish listening to all of our songs during class time however we only have 2-3 to listen to. My favorites include:

- 'Sunshine in our life' because it is slow yet lively and allows us to have a band, allowing us for more variations in shots

- 'Take it or leave it' as it would make a lively band video, however, we need to ensure the older voice is castable

- 'Peach' I feel that this could make a really fun video and the original artist is a young British boy making casting easier for us

With this in mind, we still need to listen to a few more songs but I think that we have a range of songs that could make for fun music videos. We discussed how a band would be more work but perhaps could make a more interesting video as there are more people for the camera to focus on. I feel that this group has potential to be a strong group, one of the reasons being that while we were pitching ideas, everybody gave feedback and we all took it into consideration, building a foundation of a strong group dynamic. This is because listening to each others ideas and considering our possibilities is important while making a strong campaign.
